Rocket Launch

Sunday, July 11

6:30pm-8:30pm, Meadowpark Athletic Complex

Due to the unpleasant weather forecast for tomorrow, we are moving the rocket shoot to Sunday.

We will start at 6:30 on Sunday July 11 at Meadowpark Athletic Complex in Bedford. Click on the post below for the link to the location.

The good news is that if you haven’t already built a rocket you still have time to hit the hobby store and pick one up to launch with the Pack.  Just pick one that is at “Skill Level 1″, either Estes or Quest brand.  You should be able to put it together in less than an hour. Be sure to buy a pack of engines if you haven’t already requested them from me.

Read the Launch instructions that came with your rocket so you have some idea of what to do on Sunday. We’ll have seasoned veterans on hand, but it helps if you are a little familiar with the procedure.

Also – Insider Rocketeer Tip: Dust your parachute with a little talcum powder before putting it in your rocket. This will help it retain its shape when it deploys.

Rocket Launch

Saturday, July 10

9am-11am, Meadowpark Athletic Complex

We’re set to have our annual rocket shootout this Saturday at the Meadowpark Athletic Complex in Bedford (3200 Meadowpark Dr.) from 9-11 am.

Here’s a link to the location.

Bring plenty of water and wear your Class-B (t-shirt) uniform!

If you were unable to attend the rocket build last month, you can still come out and enjoy the fun.  If you wish to build your own rocket [most Hobby Lobby type stores carry them], the Pack will supply some A6-4 engines – so either purchase a rocket that uses that engine size or purchase a package of engines for your rocket [relatively inexpensive].  If you participated in the Rocket Build [or using the rocket supplied by the Pack] – do not worry about the engines, we have them covered.
